We built this app to help people find playgrounds. We do not run user accounts, do not sell personal information, and do not use ad tracking SDKs.

Why this policy exists

This policy explains what information PlayArounds uses, what stays on your device, what may be sent to external services when features are used, and how to contact us about privacy.

What information PlayArounds uses

Information that stays on your device

• Favourites and recently viewed playgrounds
• Downloaded playground dataset records for offline-first browsing
• App state such as selected filters and view state

Information used only when you choose to use a feature

• Location: used for nearby playgrounds, map recentering, and directions (only if location permission is granted)
• Issue reports/contributions: if you choose to send a report by email, you choose the message content and send it yourself
• Weather and optional Assistant features: these may process location-linked requests through Apple services

Technical and reliability data

• Network requests are used to check and download playground dataset updates
• Operational errors may be written to Apple system logs for reliability

What is sent externally

When required by a feature, data may be processed by:

• Apple services used by iOS features (for example MapKit, WeatherKit, and Apple Intelligence capabilities where available)
• PlayArounds update service, only to check and download playground dataset updates (not to create user accounts or personal profiles)
• Your email provider, only when you choose to send a report/contribution email

Playground information sources

Playground listings in PlayArounds are compiled from public information sources, including government and council-published data and related public references.

Even when sourced from public records, information can change over time. If you spot outdated or incorrect details, you can report them from inside the app.

Your choices

• You can allow or deny location access at any time in iOS Settings.
• You can use the app without location access, but nearby/map convenience features may be reduced.
• You can remove app data from your device by uninstalling the app.

Data retention

• On-device data remains on your device until you remove it or uninstall the app.
• If you send an email report/contribution, retention is governed by the email systems involved.

Security

We use practical safeguards for app data flows, including secure networking mechanisms, optional SSL pinning configuration, and checksum verification for downloaded dataset updates.

Children

PlayArounds is family-oriented, but it does not provide account registration and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through an account system.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we do, we will update the effective date above.
